Sky email

Hi all - any idea if there is a fix date for how yahoo & Apple will solve how bad Sky email is. I do not find going thru the Sky website a suitable fix solution.

I'm not sure what issues you are having but there are always other ways to access your emails if you don't want to go via the Sky website. There is the yahoo email app or you could use the Outlook app instead both of which should work with no problems.

If using the Outlook app use these settings;

Select either "Other"  from the list of providers then use these settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes

You will then need to generate a 16 digit password and use that instead of your usual one, you can do that here:

Sky Yahoo Mail works fine - apart from with Apple mail apps. Apple are the people to ask about the resolution date for a fix.

Re: Sky email

Thanks but not sure I agree - if i am buyng a service from Sky I expect them to ensure their services work on a platform as well used as Apple - so expect these two big companies to be working together.

If you use your browser and log in via sky.com, Sky Yahoo Mail works fine. Sky aren't responsible for the multitude of apps and clients that you might choose to use instead. That's the domain of the software owners.

Edited to add: and Sky Yahoo Mail is provided free of charge.

Sky are not responsible for the email app on any phone as that is down the the phone provider so in your case that is Apple and as Apple have previously acknowledged there is a fault it is up to them to fix it after all it isn't like the Apple email app is the only email app that can be used on your phone.
