Email
I switched from virgin media broadband to sky. I was told that I could keep my virgin media email address which has been working up until yesterday. A couple of days before this happened I received an email telling me to pay them $200 otherwise they would start causing problems for me through my email. I ignored it even though they did my email address and my password. Now I cannot get any emails and my inbox, saved box is empty. HELP!!

Re: Email
I'm not clear how this involves Sky? Access to a Virgin email address is something you would need to sort out with Virgin.

Re: Email
This is nothing to do with Sky as it is Virgin who you need to be contacting to see if your email address is still activate with them, if it isn't then you should beware that it isn't possible to get an email address with Sky so if you need a new one just set one up at Gmail.com which is run by Google so it is tied to companies like Virgin or Sky.

That sounds more like a scam email so just delete it as nobody can do anything to your account as nonsense like that is sent to scare you.

Virgin Media will only keep your email open for a maximum of 90 days after your account is closed - at this point your email address and emails are deleted - there have been instances where emails have lasted longer and some that have closed earlier. The eamil asking for $200 is going to be a scam.
Of course as mentioned, this is nothing to do with Sky and Sky have no access to your Virgin Media account

Who told you that?
Apparently your Virgin email stays active for 90 days after leaving, to give you time to make alternative arrangements.

Can I keep my Virgin Media email address?
If you cancel your Virgin Media broadband , you have 90 days to access your Virgin Media email before it vanishes forever, with all the contents going with it. Basically, Virgin Media gives you a window during which you can move or save anything important to your computer or forward it to a new email address. After that 90-day period, it's gone for good.
