Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
I'll show you the screenshot of what I see if you wish? The security page has no generate or revoke button.

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
I didn't understand your point about why you would need to revoke a generated password. I haven't seen any post before yours suggesting you need to be able to. After all there's no button to revoke a non-generated password either.

And I lose connection once again.... the server cannot be contacted at this time, please re-enter your password.

You certainly can revoke an app password.
Log in here: https://www.sky.com/myaccount/my-details and scroll down to Sky Yahoo Mail access and there you will find a Manage passwords link.
Before you say "nothing works" you need to learn how to use it.

That has been happening a bit lately, but only when adding the account to an app/client, and the usual prompt is "try again in an hour".
There seems to be an intermittent problem with the OAuth registration servers, but using app passwords should work.
At which point do you get that error?
Edit: And what app are you trying to use.

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
The connection drops the whole time with the Outlook app (both iOS and Outlook versions are the newest). So when I get the app password, I put it in, it works, then it doesn't work 5 minutes later. Then I get frustrated so go for another app password, then it completely fails. Then I delete the account in Outlook, and have to wait an hour to get iti working. One thing a Sky person said was try NOT to create the account in Outlook using the pre-set-up Yahoo details, but use a blank template. Alas when I do this, the "Done" button is greyed out, so that doesn't work. I either need a new computer, move back to a PC, or leave Sky. otherwise I am going stir crazy!

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
There does seem to be a few problems with the Outlook apps recently (see the other threads running at the moment)
As I said above I had problems getting Outlook to work recently using the default settings and the OAuth challenge (It used to work fine, it's only lately that I've had problems) but using the generated password worked fine, I certainly didn't have to keep repeating it.
Currently, when i try to add a Sky account and choose "NOT YAHOO", as soon as I select IMAP it assumes I'm installing an an Exchange account. Don't know if it's just me finding that, but I can't get any further.
Have you tried with another app, Gmail on Android and Mail on iOS to see if they work better.
I am certainly not having any problems with installed accounts on mobile and PC, but getting them inatalled on Android Outlook seems to be having problems.

Turns out it was a bug in version 4.2316.4 of Outlook.

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
Other email accounts work fine, it is just Sky that drops the whole time.
I am used to it now, but it is very irritating, as it tends to happen when I have a lot to do.

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
I believe you are using an iOS device, Apple have been tightening up security recently and some of those features can upset Sky|Yahoo. I don't know Apple devices, perhaps @caesarome you could offer some advice?

Re: Sky email “connection to server failed”
When that happened to me I was putting in my sky ID instead of my email address. Make sure it's your email that you enter and not sky ID. Hope it works for you
