Sky.com email will not work with GMAIL or outlook, wont allow setup

I have had this problem on a number of occasions and the Sky generated sixteen digit password has always worked.

I have the same problem now but, when it comes to generating a password, the web page keeps telling me to check my connection or try again later.

Sky advisors seem perplexed. They promise to escalate the query and come back to me...but they never do.

@KEITHANDJEAN there have been other reports of the app password generator not working. I don't know if Sky are aware. I'd suggest reporting it by way of a complaint, ideally via the webform: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

I did submit a very detailed 'complaint' about this issue but it, too, has fallen on deaf ears.
