I have received no emails today via Outlook. When I logged into my Sky/Yahoo email account there were emails there, so something has gone wrong. The emails are showing up on my mobile phone (which is not Outlook).
When I opened Outlook a little while ago on my laptop I got a pop up message from Yahoo! which I have never seen before - it didnt ask for a password but did offer me the option to create an account (which I don't need as I already have one). Now it is just "syncronising bulk mail" non stop, (for the past 10 minutes) and showing "Send/Receive" error. I cannot do anything on Outlook.
Has anyone else experienced this issue today?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHave you either authorised the account to use Outlook or created an app specific password? Sky/Yahoo now use 2 factor authentication so this may be required.

I have authorised it previously but cannot redo those steps currently because I cannot click on anything in Outlook. I couldnt even get out of Outlook until I did a Control-Alt-delete and End Task.

Did closing Outlook fix the freezing of the program?
26 Jul 2023 05:47 PM
No, closing it didnt make any difference. When I opened Outlook again, I got the Yahoo message (which never usually shows). It says "Sign in with your Yahoo! account" - then shows my email address and then a Next button below that. But when you click on the Next button the next message says "We are unable to process your request at this time".
So to me that seems to imply it is a Yahoo! issue?

Have you tried deleting the account & set it up again?
Have you tried the app specific password?

I'm having a similar issue. When I open Outlook , I get the Yahoo message saying "Sign in with your Yahoo! account" - then shows my email address and then a Next button below that. But when you click on the Next button the next message says "We are unable to process your request at this time".

Am seeing the same thing. The generated passwords no longer work, and the main password generates an error. Have tried removing and setting up again with the same problem. Did anyone find a fix?

It is now working again without me having to do anything.

Hi. This is on the desktop. Still not working. Won't recognise the generated passward. It does recognise the main password but then says "an unkown error has ocurred". Thanks.

Just spoke to Sky Support. Other than reseting the password or clearing the browser cache, they were very short on ideas and said I should wait a few days and hope for the best. This is very poor. Clearly there is an issue on the Sky/Yahoo side.

Hmm. I use Outlook 2019 on desktop and it works fine with Sky Yahoo Mail, using a generated password. It doesn't look like a generic issue on the Sky/Yahoo side. I know another Community member who posts here regularly and also uses Outlook.

What is it you are using in the desktop, are you logging into the Sky website to access your emails ?
