Outlook access

Unable to access emails via Outlook, it just stopped working suddenly yesterday. It affects all my devices Desktop, iPhone and Tablet so it's definitly not a hardware issue,  it asks me to sign into my Yahoo account and then says waiting for my email provider followed by Failed something went wrng when setting up my account.

Re: Outlook access

I've discovered this is an Outlook App issue, I have jist gone back to the old dektop version of Outlook and everything works and no loss of data. Can't do this on the iPhone but at least the desktop works, Yahoo mail a works fine on the phone but no calendar.

I assume you are referring to the "New" Outlook, it's still working for me. (not that I actually use it, I much prefer the "Old" Outlook)

If you were using Outlook an your iPhone, that is a completely different beast (as far as I know. I don't use Apple devices), so if both have stopped working, it's unlikely to be a problem with both apps..

If you have returned to the "classic" Outlook (presumably on a Windows PC) you must be using a generated password as it isn't OAuth compatible.

Have you made any changes to your account recently?

Re: Outlook access

I had this issue on the Outlook app on Windows 11, iPhone and Androids tablet. I spoke with Microsoft who did not have a clue neither were they particularly interested and could only suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app which when I did that all I got was a blank screen no emails no diary events. I told Microsoft I had had a similar problem a couple of years back with a work email address but then after doing nothing it suddenly started working again so they suggested that I did that. At midnight last night the app started working again and now all seems fine. I suspect that some techy at Microsoft had been doing some sort of maintenance and blocked an access port or something which stopped emails coming through from yahoo, not that they would ever admit it.
