Re: Can’t access emails as not receiving two stage verification code

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Ada210316 I've moved your post to the current thread on this subject (you originally posted in a thread from 2024).

As you can see from the post marked as the Answer, Sky are aware and are working on it.

Meanwhile if you made a note of your Recovery Code you can use it to turn off 2 step Verification. If you didn't you could call Sky and they'll be able to turn it off for you. It takes a few days.

Re: 6 digit code not getting through to me to retrieve my Sky Yahoo mail account

When I had the same problem I asked Sky (amongst many other things) if they could help me with my recovery code - and they said they couldn't ?

If they can ....why wouldn't they ?

They can't help with the recovery code, however they can get the 2FA turned off on your account.

You may have been asking the wrong question.

Perhaps ...but I was asking many questions trying to get some sort of positive  result .

They said they would get the 2FA turned off, but they couldn't (or at least didn't).

The issue that most people on these threads are having is the complete lack of clarity and ability to resolve what appears to be a relatively simple issue - and in my case to give you any feedback. It just leads to total frustration.

This issue started on March 20th (in my case), For them to be still working on a solution 7 weeks later is not good - or acceptable.

@Bobby+Par resolving the immediate problem is simple, and can be undertaken immediately by affected users, by using the Recovery Code to turn off 2FA. The issue for some is that they didn't make a note of their Recovery Code, despite Sky's recommendation to do so.

No two-step verifications being sent by text

Not had access now for a while to emails and desperately need to access urgent emails now. I have called sky numerous times and cannot seem to resolve. I see this has been an issue on here since 1st April so why is this issue not resolved yet? It is not my network, have reset settings, tried numerous devices and including tried at my work premises. Is a known issue but I still can't access for over a month and just stopped working in that the 6 digit code never gets sent by text. Number has of course been checked and not blocked.

@TinyVid

As the other posts say, you will need to use your recovery code that you hopefully saved when you setup 2FA, to turn off the 2FA.

If you don't know the recovery code you will need to contact Sky and ask them to disable 2FA for you.
