Re: 2 step verification code
Have you used the recovery code to turn 2FA off as you were asked to tick a box to say you had made a note of it when setting it up.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

Originally, I couldn't remember my recovery code, so Sky removed the two factor off. I then reset it, keeping a note of the recovery code. My emails then worked for two days, and then went again. I have temporarily removed the two factor, until I know for sure that it has been fixed.

@MKD147 I imagine Sky will update this thread when the problem is fixed. Failing that, the Superusers will be notified in closed forum and will post here accordingly.

After nearly 4 weeks of pain and anguish I eventually found my recovery code (the ones I had tried previously) were incorrect.
I concur 100% with the advice ref recovery codes - they are a get-out-of-jail card indeed.
They don't appear to be able to do anything if you lose it though ..?

@Bobby+Par yes, it really is. The problem is that most users don't realise it until it's too late! Good for you for keeping a note of it, and finding it. I did suggest to Sky that they make it more obvious on the set-up screen the importance of making a note of it, and what can happen if users don't.
Sky can turn off 2 step verification on your behalf if you don't have a Recovery Code. I do wonder if they've decided not to do while this problem exists, to avoid being inundated......

I HAVE MY EMAIL BACK!!!!!
After a week of phone calls to Sky.....numerous promises (not kept) ......and eventually I heard the magic words....."We can turn off 2fa"!!!!
So on Friday, after speaking to a very helpful, and sympathetic agent called John, he put me through to a lovely lady who took my details, filled in a form & said 2fa would be switched off by this Tuesday.
Well, today is Sunday & I've been successful in logging in to my email account......and no need for a 6 digit code!
So, it is possible for Sky to switch it off.....even without the recovery code.
Anyway.....got to go now, I have circa 400 emails to read!🤪

Good to hear @The+Robster, with all things Sky Yahoo Mail, much depends on who picks up when you call. If you decide to set up 2FA once again, be sure to make and keep a note of your Recovery Code, so that you can turn it off yourself if any future problem with Verification Codes emerges.

this is ridiculous, this is SKYs problem, and yet they cannot turn 2FA off within 5-7 days, and they cannot send a verification code to my lebara mobile. The link on the page to manage 2FA doesnt work either, doesnt open up a page and no option to open in a tab when right clicked. I'm in the middle of buying a house and need to edit docs on the PC. I've been with sky for over 25 years but this level of support reminds me why I've now cancelled my TV packages.

- This is why I cancelled my TV subscription. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years, but we get very little loyalty back! When I raised my 2FA issue, Sky did remove it within a few days. I then proceeded to reset it, carefully recording the recovery code. My emails worked for two days, and then went again! I have now removed my 2FA until I know that the issue has been fully resolved. I thought that they would have managed to resolve it by now! Take care

@Craigr-UK did you not make a note of your Recovery Code as Sky recommended, and you confirmed having done?
That would have enabled you to turn off 2 step verification yourself instantaneously.

I'm also on Lebara, and I'm getting codes O.K., so maybe it is not related to the mobile network, as we believed.

I am having the same problem, I am not getting the codes sent to my phone. My problem is that I did not set up Two-Step Verification in the first place as it is something that I do not want or need. For that reason I therefore do not have a recovery code.

Sorry I should have also mentioned that this is what is happening on my PC, my mobile is still getting e-mails without a problem and without 2FA.

@hmsk212 as per my reply to your other post - Sky would not be attempting to send Verification Codes to your mobile if you hadn't set up 2 step login yourself. You definitely set it up, and as part of the setup process, you were given a Recovery Code.

No Mark, I have never set up two step verification it is something that I have never wanted, never asked for and have never actuated.
