Re: Network setting preventing download of content

I have the same problem but I think it is a combination of Sky Broadband / Sky Shield and IOS Mail settings.

It might be the Privacy Protection in IOS, I am on the latest IOS version 16.5.1

I have been on sky boradband for years and have had an iphone for many years also, it has only been an issue in the last year or so. I think the latests IOS updates for Privacy Proection are the issue.

When I disconnect Wifi from sky broadband and use my standard mobile data with Privacy Protection enabled the emails load fine.

When I connect to Wifi from sky broadband and have Privacy Protection disabled  on phone the emails load fine.

When I connect Wifi from sky broadband with Privacy Protection enabled the emails do not load.

When I am on a different wifi such as BT (at friends house) with Privacy Protection enabled the emails load fine.

So my only conclusion is you cannot run Sky Shield and IOS privacy protection together, if you do then you will get certain emails that will not load and you will get the notification when you open the email on your iphone "Your network settings prevent content from loading privately.
Load content. " and you have to then manually tap the "Load content" option.

I have the same issue on my iPad and my iPhone. I only switched to Sky on 30th October. Before I had BT and no issue.

Re: Network setting preventing download of content

This seems to have worked for me the only thing I'd add is that you turn off email privacy settings on iPhone before then following the steps above and turning on privacy settings again

Ps these were the steps I followed from

First turn via email privacy settings turn off email protection

then...

1. turn sky shield off

2. Turn mail protection on iPhone on

3. Turn sky shield back on.

the order that they are turned on seems to affect whether it works or not, if you have shield on and then enable mail protection it doesn't work.

*** THIS FIX WORKED ***

I'm a Web Developer by trade and this even had me pretty stumped, anyway...

I've been using Mac mail for years on my iMac, via Virgin, I recently switched to Sky and images went missing in Mac Mail emails. Disabling Sky Shield did the trick!

That's all folks!

I had the exact same problem,  I went to the sky boradband shield and just changed it from 13 to 18 and it worked.
