Inbox does not sync with Outlook on an iMac

I am sick and tired of yahoo/sky mail losing connection when on Outlook. The number of times I need to delete the account, get the special 16 character re-authentication password (from a url that needs pre-knowledge to locate), to access my mail, only for a few hours later you lose connection once more, it drives me to distraction. The same happens on the iphone "cannot get details, please re-enter password". For hours at a time. About time Sky took their e-mail seriously and built their own capability instead of relying on Yahoo which clearly lacks support, investment and reputation.

That's not going to happen. It's a legacy provision which I have no doubt is a proverbial millstone around Sky's neck, and which, accordingly they provide as cheaply as possible.

The Outlook client works perfectly fine with Sky Yahoo Mail for me, so perhaps it's iMac related. If you can't get it to work reliably, your best bet may be either to try a different email app or client, or ditch Sky Yahoo Mail and sign up with an independent provider such as GMail or Hotmail.

Thanks Mark, I have come to the same conclusion. A shame and a real pain to change after so many years, but maybe also time to move on from Sky as a general broadband provider.
