How to stop 2 step verification

I started 2 step verification and I want to stop it as I will no longer have this UK phone number.
how do I cancel this before giving up my phone number and not being able to access my emails?

At log in, tap 'can't log in with code' and enter your Recovery Code which will turn it off. The Recovery Code was displayed on screen when you set up 2 step login, and also copied to your email account.

If you don't have the recovery code that you were asked to make a note of or if you didn't forward the email with it in to another account then you will have to contact Sky to ask them to do this for you. There is a 21 day wait though and don't let them tell you that you need to go to Yahoo as this is a Sky issue.

@Frank1991

As long as you still have access to the current number you can turn it off, see How to turn off here:

I would be interested to see how this works as while that has been there a while I can't help but think that the "we will send you a 6 digit code" will still see it being sent to the number that people no longer have access to.

I've tried it in the past and you're right, it does. However in this case, the OP does still have the same mobile number and is just proactively turning off 2 step login in preparation for replacing it, so should be fine.
