How do set up on iphone sharing our sky yahoo email accounts

We share our email accounts. My wife cannot now send emails using my account although my mailboxes are visible. Receives message 'the user name or password for my email address  is incorrect' .

So what password is she supposed to use? I reset my password and tried that but it did not work.

So the problem lies with the app you're using - Apple's Mail app?

1. If your wife can receive emails ok, it's possible that the app settings require you to set up both receiving and sending passwords separately. Check that they're both correct.

.2. You could try using an app password in place of your usual Sky password in the Mail app's settings. There's a link to the app password generator in the FAQS section of Sky's help here:https://www.sky.com/help/articles/problems-accessing-sky-mail-from-your-email-app

3. The Mail app has long since been quirky and intermittently just refuses to collect/send emails even when everything is set up correctly. It usually sorts itself out within a few days without intervention.

How are you doing this, so do you both have the same email account set up on your iphones and if so is one of them failing with this error ?

If so the one that is failing, try selecting Yahoo as the email provider in settings if you need to sdet it up again.

When i reset my password in MY SKY YAHOO app and then use that password on my wifes SKY YAHOO app it works receiving my emails and ability to send emails.

But no update of emails or ability to send emails on my wifes phone with APPLE MAIL when I enter my name & 👆🏽password says wrong password. So Frustrating!

Did you try doing as @Mark39 suggested and generarating a 16 digit password here and using this instead of your usual one:

The instructions are wrong obviously not updated for IOS updates, denied me access on my phone to my mailbox, lucky I saved the previous password to access.

Just find and use the app generator link. I didn't intend you to follow any instructions on that page.

Yes I did use it and that was when I had to revert back to the previous password to regain  access to my emails etc  on my phone.

@PETETHEFEETWALES I thought it was your wife's phone that had the login problem. The intention was to use the app password with your wife's phone, not yours.

Sorry Misunderstood, thought i would test on my phone then try on wifes.

Shouldn't my sky yahoo email password be the same on both apple email accounts on our phoned for this to work?

Or am I misunderstanding the password protocol in my efforts to provide apple mail access to my account on my wifes phone?

Not as far as I know. You can use an app password on one device, and your normal Sky password on another (I do that to access my Sky Yahoo Mail account via GMail on one device, but log in with my normal password via sky.com).

Give it a try?
