Error when trying to delete sky yahoo email account

I have visited the yahoo account termination page to try and delete my sky.com email address. I follow the steps but on every attempt I get an error. Why can't I delete the account?

The Yahoo account termination page is for Yahoo email addresses only and not Sky.com ones. If you no longer want to use your Sky email account then if you don't login to it over a period of months then it will be deleted.

There's a process for deleting Sky Yahoo Mail accounts, but it appears to not be well understood by service centre advisers. For that reason, it's probably easier to ignore it and let it wither. If it's that important that you don't want to wait (not sure why it would be), give Sky a call.

Either call Sky to request deletion, or leave the account unattended and it will be automatically deleted after a while.

@Enid+f

Don't login to it online for 6 months:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/inactive-sky-yahoo-mail-accounts

If you haven’t signed in to your Sky Yahoo Mail account for five months or more, we’ll send an email to:

  • Your Sky Yahoo Mail address; and
  • The email address you used when you set up your account/any replacement email address you've registered with us since then.

You’ll then have 14 days to sign in to your Sky Yahoo Mail account, or it will be suspended.

While the account is suspended, we’ll send you a second reminder email to reactivate your account, but you won't be able to receive any other emails during that time.

If you don’t reactivate your account within 14 days of the second email, your account will be deleted and can’t be recovered. This includes all emails, contacts and calendar information.

This doesn’t affect your Sky iD or any other Sky services.
