Emails classed as unread

I have my Sky email address set up as an app on my iPhone so always read as soon as I can, often within a couple of minutes. Yet I keep receiving messages from Yahoo accusing these of having been unread, which they certainly aren't. Why is this? I decline to use this as my main email address due to this.
