Email problem

Hi, I've been having problems with sending and receiving emails since Monday teatime, Sky says the problem with them is now solved and that I need to call yahoo , they gave me a phone number which doesn't work!

I can't get in through the app. And going in through sky.com doesn't work cos they  want a 6 digit code, which is never received by my mobile any idea please?

Is the code you're being sent a Verification Code, for 2 step login?

Hi, yes I can input my password, then it requires a 6 digit code, but I can't receive it

Unless @caesarome or @jayach has a different view, this sounds, unfortunately, like a repeat of the uncommon problem occasionally raised here before. 

 

There's no point contacting Yahoo, as they'll simply refer you back to Sky, as it's a Sky Yahoo Mail account. It will need to be resolved by Sky, possibly after speaking to Yahoo themselves. I would suggest raising it as a complaint which might elicit some attention: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

 

It may take a few days.

Thank you, I have again spoke to sky they have now put in a request to the appropriate team to remove the 2 step verification process, said will take up to 2 days. (Im still not sure that will work, as it never has, even before all this trouble)  ive always in the past accessed  the emails through the apple mail app.

Hm. Logging in via the link in my previous post doesn't invoke the 2 step login process. That happens only when you go to Sky Yahoo Mail.

 

If a code being sent when you sign in via the link I posted previously, it's not a 2 step login verification code, so I'm not sure how removing the 2 step login process will help. We'll wait and see, I guess!

Is the code you aren't able to receive being sent to your mobile or email address?

Hiya, it should come to my mobile, but that facility has never worked.  The only way I've ever been able to get my emails is through the apple mail app.  I've spoken to Apple and they did lots of checks and said it's to do with sky.  I've now been told by sky that they will have removed the 2 step verification thing by Friday afternoon. But I've been fobbed off and hung up on numerous times by sky over the last 2 days, I'm not convinced.

Prior to Monday evening could you access your online email account without and issues and without the need to receive this 6 digit verification code ?

Yes I could, no problems at all before then,. Using the apple mail app there wasn't a need for any code to be put in.

When u open it you can see all the emails that were already there before the problem.  Emails that I tried to send since the problem have gone in the outbox.
