E mail verification

Type username and password for Yahoo e mail......then get told verification code sent to....the e mail address I'm trying to sign into.....any ideas other than ringing.

What exactly does it say? It may be that your email has been blocked by Yahoo.

Yahoo Mail? Or Sky Yahoo Mail? 

The verification code for Sky Yahoo Mail is sent by text message, not email.

It says we have sent a verification code to your e mail address...the e mail address shown is the e mail address I'm trying to sign in to....must be yahoo mail because it sends it to e mail rather than text.....I view it through the sky.com website though.

@JMD1886 if your email address ends with @yahoo.co.uk or com, that's a Yahoo Mail account.

That's a Sky Yahoo email account then. But I'm confused then for the reason I mentioned before. Only the Recovery Code is sent to your email address.

Could this be  a SkyID login rather than Sky Yahoo Mail?

Here's what it says.

followed by the e mail address I'm trying to access that ends in sky.com

That's odd as the verification code is only sent to a mobile via a text message so is not sent to an email address.

Do you have the recovery code that you can use to turn this off and get access to your account ?

@JMD1886 I've not come across this before.

I think, as @jayach indicated, this must be some sort of intervention by Yahoo.

I don't see any alternative to phoning Sky I'm afraid (not Yahoo, they definitely won't help you, even if they're involved somehow). I'm sceptical that Sky will know what's going on too, but you've got to start somewhere. Let us know how you get on.

No recovery code.....will keep this updated....luckily it isn't my main e mail.
