I have received emails re access to my email account. Is it a scam??
We wrote to you earlier in the year as we noticed that you may be accessing your Sky.com email on your mobile, tablet or other device using an out-of-date version of an email application such as Apple Mail, Outlook or Windows Live Mail.
Out-of-date versions of these email applications will soon no longer be supported by Sky.com. This is to make sure you have a better and more consistent experience with your Sky.com emails.
You will need to make some quick updates so you can continue to access your mailbox.
If you do nothing, you may no longer be able to access your Sky.com email via your preferred email application.

It's quite correct that for some apps you do need to take action to continue to use them, namely use an app password in place of your existing Sky password.

What does it say it wants you to do as it might want you to generate a 16 digit password for those apps you use and use that instead of your usual password as per this page:

They contained no links (thank goodness) but ended with:
To verify this email and find instructions of how to update your apps, please visit sky.com/help , click on the section titled 'Sky Yahoo Mail' and follow the link to 'Updating my email app'. We are still prioritising calls from our vulnerable customers so please use our online help pages to guide you through making these updates
So, it sounds genuine, but why you have only just got it is strange.
