windows 11 laptop uses band 36, whereas printer is band 11. cannot connect to print

I have bought a new laptop which has windows 11.

I have connected to broadband ok, but laptap connects to band 36.

My existing wifi, which incorporates tv, printer, mobiles, tablets use band 11.

My laptop can't find the printer, so I cannot print anything.

Can you advise how to correct this.

@Geordie+Gal

They are WiFi channels, not bands and devices can communicate across them fine so the issue is either your printer is not connected to the router or the laptop hasnt had the printer added properly, maybe driver issue

Re: windows 11 laptop uses band 36, whereas printer is band 11. cannot connect to print

Thanks for that info.

Printer is connected to router as I can print from other devices. e.g. Desktop computer and mobile phone.

I've spoken with Microsoft for ages while we looked at downloading drivers, which I'd already done, reconnecting printer. They also say channel not an issue, not, they believe is Windows 11. My next port of call needs to be the manufacturer of laptop. Not one I have used before, Fusion. Not totally happy with it. I'm used with HP. Any further suggestions welcome.

Re: windows 11 laptop uses band 36, whereas printer is band 11. cannot connect to print

I have a new laptop running Windows 11.  I also have an HP ENVY Photo 6234 all-in-one.

I connected to WiFi and installed the printer to 1. Scan and again 2. Print.

From the laptop, I am able to communicate over WiFi to the Scanner part of the machine.  However, I can't get communication with the printer section.  I have tried to fix this using the tips on HP, Microsoft and other websites.  Still not working.

(I've moved the printer into the same room as the router and the laptop.)

I can print using my mobile phone.  However, I want to print from my laptop.  Any help out there, please?

@ARW26 this isnt an issue involving your Sky broadband. HP's software can leave a lot to be desired I would go onto their website and download the most recent software suite for your printer and install on your PC hopefully thst will get the two talking. I have spent far too many hours in the past trying to persuade HP printers to print on demand. Great printers but buggy software.

Reference my printer problem. I sent my Fusion laptop back as battery not holding charge and got refund. I bought a recycled Dell desktop with windows 10 and printer works perfectly with it. So I reckon problem was either my laptop or Windows 11.

@Chrisee Thanks for your reply.  I have downloaded the latest and I'm told my software is up-to-date.  I think I'm stuck.

I have contacted both Microsoft and ASUS but no response from either yet.
