wifi slow

Have 1GB fibre just installed. Connection is slower than previously. Getting around 50-80MB download and upload on speedtest and google speedtest. Have tried restarting, moving laptop right beside router, changing cable to cat 6, changed channel in router setup. seperating 2.4GHz network from 5GHz and connecting less important devices to 2.4GHz. Still have slow speeds. Really regret "upgrading" to fibre.  Was getting glitches on ping to router and dropped packets before splitting the networks. Now its just slow.

Re: wifi slow

@dny1 The web interface to the sky hub will show you the sync up/down speeds that are set Maintenance/Router Status to see those, mine was 549 900 and 75 000 spaces to get through the filter, yours will be higher as on the Gig package, also if you can Ethernet test through the hub for speed, and the sky service checker will show you history 30 day's is stored but as new you will not have that yet, link below to it!

Make sure Port4 Wan connection back off the Hub to the ONT Lan connection, and everything is shared network wise, i do not have to shut off any off my wireless devices as Know and Trust the operation off them, so when i wireless speed test from my laptop hit's the 500/70 every time unless OR Network is busy with some slowdown, have NO battery saving on it, all turned off to keep the CPU tramping at max, but mains PSU connected normally keeps that at bay anyway!

ping bbc.co.uk -n 600

Pinging bbc.co.uk [2a04:4e42:400::81] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 2a04:4e42:400::81:
Packets: Sent = 3, Received = 3, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Re: wifi slow

Unfortunately skychecker https://www.sky.com/servicechecker

gives me

Sorry, that didn't work
Service Checker isn't available right now. Please try again later or visit https://www.sky.com/help

But i'll check later. Also going to buy a ethernet to usb c adapter, so i can test wired network. Yesterday for the first time, got 250gbits after a call with Sky. They made me reboot the box and after that we had a speed up. Had restarted that a few times already, so not sure why it changed anything this time. Anyway they are going to call back tomorrow and we'll do a wired test. Thanks for your replies.
