speak with a human

i just need to know if i need to change my phone line from analog to digital to continue to use sky broadband. Why is it so hard to speak to someone.

If you have full fibre broadband and an o n t box  optical network terminal box like this

 then you  plug the landline  phone  into the router  where it says uk

No, and it's the other way round anyway: changing the broadband technology (switching ISP, upgrade speed or moving to an optical circuit) which causes the voice service to be migrated from analogue to digital (technically VoIP) automatically.

The box isn't necessarily relevant: as I said, it's changing the broadband service which triggers the switch from analogue to digital voice service, not the other way round.

 

Given PSTN is due to be retired nationally in January 2027, ISPs are going to have to be more proactive with their customers.

 

If there's already  a Sky Hub with a telephone socket at the address (Broadband Hub, Max Hub or Gigafast+ Hub) then this switch can be handled remotely apart from the customer plugging their handset into the rear of the router rather than a wall socket.
