can i use a hdmi transmit/recevier from sky box to tv without cable running through room to room

That's not a broadband issue (or even related to ISP WiFi)
Such devices exist but are notoriously unreliable, particularly over any distance or through walls.
I'd suggest research online, and only buying from suppliers with a good returns policy.

@andrew736 if you buy the kit online you can return it within 14 days if it doesnt work which nobody can predict until you try it. Basically in theory it should work but practice doesnt always follow theory. Cables are far more reliable

You'll find real world reviews of such devices (rather than marketing guff) where the video stream breaks up whenever a viewer moves. It really isn't great technology (particularly at UHD) otherwise it would be far more widespread, but you may find something which works for you.

flat hdmi cable running from sky box in dinner to living room to tv under the underlay and carpet
