"Static" IP

I am considering moving my connection to Sky, although my experience with their tech staff so far has not been encouraging. As they don't know how their product operates, and at their suggestion, I am hoping someone can answer my question. With Virgin, my current ISP, so long as the connection sees activity on a fairly regular basis such as an email check every 15 minutes, I keep the same IP address which I need for RDP access and my FTP server. Does the same apply to a Sky connection?

Re: "Static" IP

@ColinHanslip So yes, the wan IP is fairly sticky and with power up on the hub and no reset's to the unit then there is no change, but there is no 100% guarantee it's going to hold fast, there is no static wan IP with sky, you will need another ISP for that if it is important to you, think the ddns works well but do not use or have any sky gear attached!

Edit:- The business link if you do wish to look at that as a seperate.

Sky Business Broadband has static external IP as an (extra monthly cost) option.
