hi! i have the sky broadband hub and it's about not even 6 months old, i game a lot and i got ping around 20-40.. now i have problems where in games such as overwatch my ping would spike up to 120 and it delays my inputs, and games such as rainbow 6 siege where i would get constant 300 pings changing in each round.
i have tried everything as to search online and nothing is working. any help is appreciated..

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@matlikesfood how id the device you are playing on networked? If its using wifi that is the most likely cause as porrcsignal quality leads to packet loss and ping spikes. Ethernet connections are pretty much immune so if you are playing on a device using ethernet the cause will be something diifferent.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@matlikesfood wifi conditions change unfortunstely. Something could be causing interference it is most likely something in your home. Possible causes include any device using wireless communication like cordless phones, wireless speakers etc try to kepp these well away from the router. If you indtall a wifi analyser app on a laptop or Android phone you should becable to see if a neighbour's network is causing issues its rare on thec5GHz band duecto its shorter range but possible if there is there is not much you can do about it as the Sky hubs can only use ch36 to 52.
Honestly you are best using ethernet or failing thst powerline asapters for gaming.

It could also be bufferbloat you're describing as that creates latency spikes too and is a big problem in todays world of streaming platforms and online gaming. Google search bufferbloat and see if it tallies. If so, third party equipment with smart queue management will cure it.
