Tried to tag you but system may be taking your username as a postcode

From a personal experience, absolutely. Any issues re speed and reliability were dealt with quickly even if one them was my own fault for resetting the hub too much (thats only 2 times in 3-4 years).

There will be some with different opinions/experiences but sky compare favourably in comparison with other isp's

If I get it right mark as answered
If I get it wrong humour me
If I say something you like give a thumbs up

According to Ofcom Sky come out pretty well on both satisfaction and perhaps more importantly on complaints handling when things go wrong. I have used them for 7 years and the service has been very reliable.

Re: new broadband customer

It all depends on your requirements. If you only want a bog standard broadband provider with an average router and no fixed public IP or rDNS for a domestic service then they are about average...

Current play for UK ISPs https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/technology/1406053/best-broadband-uk-internet-provider

If you need fix public IP or/and rDNS then a specialised ISP is necessary, eg: A&A or Zen as examples.

-------

Zen internet on FTTP (900Mbps down, 100Mbps up). SAT> IP (Apple 4K 2nd gen TV to LG C1 OLED UHD TV/Dolby Atmos Denon AVR, DacMagic Plus for Hi-Res audio), hosting own blog/forum (cluster), OPNsense & Zenarmor L4/L7 NGFW & DPI IDS/IPS, Asus ET12 Pro Tri-Band wifi, Linux, Gamer: Xbox Series X/i7 laptop, round-robin DNS over HTTPS, non-proprietary VoIP HD AMR-WB (G.722.2) and more... Beta tester Apple iOS/watchOS/tvOS/iPadOS/macOS.
