We had an engineer out this morning to install Sky broadband. The location of where the modem would be is not ideal (we have very thick stone walls that would block the wifi). Can anyone tell me can the engineers install it in a different location? I know they have to plug into something outside but it would be pointless where it would be located. surely the wires could be extended or the outside connection could be moved?

Is this for a full fibre installation?
Have they installed an internal ont yet?
Very often openreach will be open to customer suggestions of ont location above the 10metres from were fibre enters the house and 3feet from the nearest electric socket on the day of installation

@cookiemonsteruk It's not openreach, I think it's called Siro? It's Sky Ireland.

SIRO do tend to install where the electric meter is usually without exception but you could try to negotiate to see if any other solution is possible
Failing that you would need a category 5e ethernet cable long enough to reach where ever you plan to place you router
