how the hell do I cancel my broadband, the CHAT option just get ignored

Do you no longer need broadband because if you are out of contract you can just sign up with a new supplier as they will take over the line. You will still have to cancel if you are planning on moving to Virgin.

If moving to another openreach isp just contact them and they take care of the switch

If moving to virgin or a non openreach provider contact both seperately allowing an overlap between services
