Regularly we find we have no internet connection and have to reset the router which seems to sort the issue, issue seems to be more prevalent through the night and I have to reset first thing in the morning. This has been like this for several months (maybe ever since we switched to sky internet) and is more than just annoying as my alarm and CCTV relies on the connection. Any ideas? Somone mentioned it could be old corroded wires; only had sky internet around 12 months and from what I can remeber didnt have an issue previously. Thanks for any help

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreOkay so I see your on Ultrafast which kind of rules out the line dropping due to degradation. It looks like the router has been up for 8hrs without any drops. When was the last time you noticed a drop? Did you manually reboot the router around 5am?

@jamesn123 , no I didnt manually reboot at 5am.
It probably drops out a couple of times a week. I usually wake up realise my garage/ shed etc arent alarmed or hive heating app is down (through an app) and then I reset router and after few minutes it corrects itself.
Sometimes it drops out (orange light) and then automatically comes back after several hours. i know this because i've been on holiday previously with no way of manually resetting and seems to come back online without a reset.
thanks for your help

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHm okay, not usually a good sign if your hub is rebooting itself. It should only do this on the odd occasion, usually after an update.
Can you post your router stats again after you next notice the problem occurring?

sure, before reset or after?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSo it is the WAN interface dropping completely.
I'd recommend you try a different ethernet cable between your Sky hub & ONT before you go any further with it

@jamesn123 , when it drops we lose all connection to the hub for all devices. Sky TV continues to work but not WIFI connection for any devices that rely on it.
Will try another ethernet lead as suggested, assume that is from the sky hub to the white box on the wall with lights?
thanks for your help
