google chrome id,s router as insecure,makes logging onto hmrc interesting,connection drops aiways

as above,have tried  disabling shield,still same,get sky self  healing joke

thanks for replying,my son has been here at weekend,understands more than me!

it appears the problem occurs when the access code  is sent to THEHOMEPHONE.. also sky. as soon as we changed it to his mobil no problem.. now set to my mobile.no problem,so whether its worth avisit from an engineer dont know

@glug2u Sky fully supports the standard https secure connection standard so no idea why you cannot connect to the HMRC. I would check the settings within your device that you have the connection correctly configured as private as opposed to public wifi. Whatever the issue it is very unlikely to be your Sky broadband connection.

The Hub administration pages (served from an embedded web server located in the Hub itself) use a self-signed SSL certificate which some browsers complain about when the Hub IP address is accessed locally.  As @Chrisee indicates, this is not the same thing as external websites and services reached through the Hub.

@glug2u HMRC like many organisations use a system called 2 factor authentication so they text a code to a mobile phone which you enter into the web site to prove it is definitely you. Given landline phones can't receive texts that is why you couldn't log on.

 

Sky dont send engineers out to sort customer's applications or devices you are best posting in the forum or asking your son if you get stuck again.
