Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@glug2u Sky fully supports the standard https secure connection standard so no idea why you cannot connect to the HMRC. I would check the settings within your device that you have the connection correctly configured as private as opposed to public wifi. Whatever the issue it is very unlikely to be your Sky broadband connection.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe Hub administration pages (served from an embedded web server located in the Hub itself) use a self-signed SSL certificate which some browsers complain about when the Hub IP address is accessed locally. As @Chrisee indicates, this is not the same thing as external websites and services reached through the Hub.

Find out more@glug2u HMRC like many organisations use a system called 2 factor authentication so they text a code to a mobile phone which you enter into the web site to prove it is definitely you. Given landline phones can't receive texts that is why you couldn't log on.
Sky dont send engineers out to sort customer's applications or devices you are best posting in the forum or asking your son if you get stuck again.
