dropping connection

I have noticed that the DHCP lease on my network connection renews earlier than the lease expiration time shown in the command prompt (ipconfig). For example, the command prompt shows that the lease should expire at a certain time, but in reality, the lease renews much earlier than that. This causes temporary interruptions in my internet connection, which is particularly disruptive during online gaming.

Additionally, on my router model — Sky Ireland SR203 — I am unable to configure DHCP settings via the web interface at the usual address (192.168.0.1). The option to change DHCP lease duration or DHCP server settings is not available, which limits my ability to manage this issue.

Could you please help me understand why the DHCP lease renews sooner than expected and advise how to fix or extend the lease duration to maintain a stable connection? Also, any guidance on managing DHCP settings on my specific router model would be greatly appreciated.

@damian24 Sky's hubs are heavily locked down so configuration optionsxare limite. However renewal of IP lease be it from the hub to the device or from the Sky server to the hub should be a background process and not affect the data flow. Typically lease renewal process starts roughly half way through the lease time with the client requesting renewal which  is normally granted by the server with no impact on the user.. This is probably what you are seeing and is normal.

See this page from Huawei explaing the process.

Re: dropping connection

So the internet outages that are changing my IP address (including the leased address) are caused by a fault? Is there any way to find out when the problem will be fixed?
