Re: connect Sky Q network to Three 5G router?

Exactly my plan.
300 for this v (today) 950 for the orbis Rbs 853 triple ( with internet grumbles that  it doesn't play nice with sky and you have to subscribe for onboard security monitoring)

im also assuming ( incorrectly) that if it isn't "rangey" enough I can buy a second pack and joint it all together in future ?   Will check with ASUs once I have a serial number in order to contact their support desk

"you have to subscribe for onboard security monitoring) "

I believe aiprotection pro only functions if the primary is set up as a router. This will limit the number of xt8's in the mesh. Also don't know if xt8 has 5g usb slot for your sim card.

Re: connect Sky Q network to Three 5G router?

Popped on to say:

  • Bought the AX8 for £300.
  • Put 5G router behind TV (middle of the house, but stil pulls >500mbps)
  • cable from 5g router to Q box
  • cable from 5G router to AX8 router.
  • turn off Sky router. Turn off 5G router Wifi
  • set up Asus network with same name and password as old Sky network.
  • Rebooted a few devices (mini box needed re-activiating)

All good.

Thank you all
