changing subscription
i need to know if i can run my subscription on a month to month basis with possible breaks in between months.

@Guyscherius Sky don't allow pausing of contracts, and with broadband this would be particularly problematic.
If discounts have already ended you'll be on a rolling contract, but if you're in a discounted term you'll need to see this through before going on a rolling contract.

No, that's not a viable business model for UK terrestrial ISPs.
Depending on your usage, you may find PAYG mobile data is an option.
