Will Ultrafast work with FTTC?
Hello, I have just moved into a new flat and signed up for Ultrafast which is due to be activated on 21st Aug. The Sky Max router has already been delivered.
Unfortunately, it looks like the previous tenant has taken the ONT box. The green optical fibre cable is hanging from the wall. Openreach is supposed to send an engineer to check the equipment on 21st Aug, but I'm really anxious after reading this forum that they are not gonna turn up.
My question is, in case Openreach doesn't show up, will my internet still work if I just plug in the router to the FTTC (wall socket) connection? I am okay with having slower internet for a while as long as I have broadband. Also, do I need to tell Sky that there is no ONT or will Openreach take care of that?

No it will not, because the Sky Ultrafast service will be provisioned over the optical circuit and never hits the copper line.
