Wifi max 6 router
The white router seems to be unreliable for some people. Mine is not good.
Does. Anyone know if this router/hub gets upgraded over the network?
If that is so can users expect these issues to be resolved? No idea if this is even possible.
Sky will not discuss this, preferring to offer solutions on a case by case basis, some of which work, some don't.I managed a work round of sorts but not ideal, best result for me was to replace the new white wifi6 hub with my old black wifi5 model. Absolutely fine!
Caveat. This is in my simple setup, Qbox and 4 ithings in constant use. Several other items in use occasionally, printer, camera, music streamer etc, all absolutely fine.
Any one shed any light on this?

Re: Wifi max 6 router
@Lucyliu2 all current Sky hubs haveupdates applied automatically. Sky never comment on what is in each update. The white Sky Max Hub does support WiFi6 which can support higher speeds than the older black Sky Broadband hub. Both have similar WiFi range so while speeds with the white hubs can exceed 900Mb/s in areas close to the hub while the black hub tops out around 650Mb/s go a couple of rooms further from the hub each are roughly the same.
However the white hubs do not support Sky Q's WiFi mesh so if you currently have Sky Q boxes acting as WiFi hotspots with a black hub you lose that if you switch to the white hub.

Re: Wifi max 6 router
Thanks for that. A lot of people (on here and elswhere) have issues that seem to focus on the white hub. I was wondering if the updates might address that.sky are not very forthcoming on such matters so I am just sharing what I have experienced for myself. The major issue for me was always connection speed, it always took time.
Changing web pages could often take a few seconds, longer sometimes, makes online shopping virtually impossible, imagine browsing around a supermarket where changing pages took 5-10 seconds every time! That was the state of my network as installed.
Since reinstalling the black hub the delay has gone.
