Wifi keeps dropping out

Hi everyone I work from home and over the past 2 weeks my wifi on my new laptop consistently drops out. I've never had this issue before and no issues with my phone or the tv. I live in a flat and the router is in the room next to my office. So a matter of a few steps. I've had this set up for over 5 years, with sky the whole period and never had this issue as consistently as I do now. I've restarted and disconnected multiple times. Any ideas on what I can do? Someone mentioned a wifi booster might help? Thanks in advance

You mentioned its a new laptop, does the issue occur on any other device or your old laptop?

No other devices have the issue and when I move the laptop next to the router it is absolutely fine 

 

I think it is my router as it is 6 years old so hopefully a new router may fix this issue

I would say its unlikely to be the router if its just the single laptop experiencing the issue. What laptop model is it? Is it personal or provided by your employer?

Its provided by my employer and is Microsoft surface laptop - windows 11 pro.
