Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Tanls the checker dies not pick up connection loss immeafiatly as it uses the last test result. However it should tell you if Sky are aware of an issue affecting your line. Unfortunately you are far from being alone having a line which becomes unreliable after bad weather. Unless you have acfull gibre connection the last section of the run from the exchange uses copper wires which can be decades old and copper carrying high frequency electical signals do not mix well with water.
All you can do if Sky arexaware not aleasy aware of the fault is call them and report it. Unfortunately the combination of a storm over New `Year with the normal holiday back log may mean it maybe some days until Openreach can check you line..
