Wifi dropping our upstairs

I have an android tv upstairs but the Wifi is constantly dropping out or freezing while  trying to watch it. In the end I just switch it off . I don't really want to end up paying for a booster

You can try moving the router to a more central or high place otherwise your options would be as follows;

- Ethernet connection (Either direct or via powerline/homeplug

- WiFi booster

- 3rd party router
