Wifi connection keeps dipping out

Hi, Four times in the last hour my wifi connection has dipped off. The app says there is no issue but we keep being disconnected. Someone came out previously and check the connections in the external box and route to the house, they found no issue. Could it be that the router is old now and not capable to receive the bandwith? We have had this router for 3 or 4 years now. Thank you
