Re: Wifi & box issue

I've also been having issues and have been needing to restart my Sky glass tv and small hub for upstairs most of the day. This has been an issue for a few months though. I'm always having to restart everything. I was thinking it may be an issue with the tv but I'm unsure. Sky sent me out a plug in boost box a few months ago to try and fix the issue  which hasn't seemed to have made much difference. Hopefully someone can clarify what's going on.

Re: Wifi & box issue

@Tamzin1992 Assuming you have the pod connected and paired to the sky Max hub, and it has no light on it to show that it is working ok, and that i believe can be confirmed as showing up in your app, then that pod has to be able to reach the wireless wifi connection on the hub to boost the signal, if it is to far away from the hub it will not do so well, have you tried adjusting were the pod is located to see if it improves the spread off the wireless wifi?

Re: Wifi & box issue

where our power sockets are makes it difficult - it's plugged in around 2.5 metres from our hub as that's the closest socket all the others are much further away and behind walls etc. the sky glass tv has trouble connecting alongside our extra hub for our tv upstairs. I've tried may sockets various distances away and I can't really tell if it's helping. There's no light on and it's connected as I can see on my app. We keep getting messages saying there are issues with our Internet and then it goes back to normal. But the constant restarting of devices is just annoying.

Re: Wifi & box issue

@Tamzin1992 You do not want it that close to the sky Hub, it serve's no purpose being there, i would plug it in at least 25 to 30' foot away from the hub, and somewhere possibly even upstairs location if that is not to far and still connects.

Re: Wifi & box issue

Thank you I have moved it 30ft away from the hub.  Do I need to connect any devices to the pod? The pod is connected to the hub via WiFi however  it's stating that nothing is connected to the pod....could this be why? The sky advisor simply told me to just plug the pod in and not do anything else.

Re: Wifi & box issue

@Tamzin1992 Two things, look to see that the light is out and that the sky app still shows the device as an online state, I do not use sky Max or Pods in anyway, the sky Max has far too many restrictions placed upon it....

Once you know it is working, so not suer were you moved it to, using you mobile, go to near the pod, wireless off on the mobile, wait 10 seconds or so and then wireless back on, see if the mobile connects to the pod....

Here is MY layout, main Asus Router is upstairs central location covering all upstairs area, have one additional AP, thats just like your pod in one off the bedrooms reason is one stupid android phone does not work good....

2nd Main Asus is directly below the Upstairs but down stairs and about 10' to the right of the main, covers totally the Kitchen / Dining Room area, and one AP downstairs Hallway to cover lower bedroom/living room/ toilet area etc....

Powerline front off house to work Ringdoor bell and Ring Camera, additional Powerline Remote Garage for the good lady working on the Treadmill or Gardening etc

So From this you will see mesh is not an easy thing to do and spread it all about, but i do have a FF500 connection and get 500/70Mb/s no matter where in the home.
