WiFi strength in different locations

I've recently switched to sky full fibre From plusnet. With plusnet my package was 900mbs and, throughout my property, I consistently got speeds around or just below this mark. I had this service for three or four years with absolutely no speed issues at any point in the house. My new sky giga fast hub is located in my lounge (same location as the plusnet router) and if I'm in direct line of sight with it I can easily achieve 1.4 or 1.5 GB speeds. However, when moving around and putting a door or a wall between my device and the hub the speed Drops To around 500/800 MBS. I've tested this in multiple locations to eliminate interference from steels, metal in the walls, interference from other devices etc with no luck. Is it simply down to the quality of the sky hub and I'll need boosters to improve the speeds, or am I missing something?

@Hammerdano the Sky hub does not have the best reputation for WiFi signal strength. If you think you need spedds higher than 5 to 800Mb/d you will ned a second WiFi source. However be aware tgst you will have to source your own equipment s]as the pod extenders Sky provides are limited to WiFi 5 which tops out around 600Mb/s. If you go down that routecturn off the Sky hubs WiFi and buy a two unit system instesd. The Sky hubs does not play nocely with many third party boosters and canonly use its closed bsckhsul band when usung Sky's pods.

In praxtice the speed difference between 500 and the full 900Mb/s is giing yo be minimal as very few applications can use 100Mb/s and if you are routinely handling files 10GB or larger you are better advised to use Ethernet. Hoeeever if you haveca few hundred auid spare go for it.
