WiFi speeds
The WiFi is rubbish. Speeds just one room away (less than 20m and no doors) averages 40mbps. Isn't even enough to use the apps such as Netflix and Prime!!!!

Re: WiFi speeds
I have turned off the router and turned it back on without success. This is a recurring problem that requires a. Engineer

Re: WiFi speeds
@Penny46 Just relocate the hub to the middle off the room, will solve all your problems more than likely...

Re: WiFi speeds
Middle of the room???? And have the wire across the floor and be a trip hazard? Is that a joke? The router is exactly where the engineer installed it. Speeds are over 400mpbs right next to the router. Move 20ft and they frequently drop to below 50!

Re: WiFi speeds
@Penny46 You must be taking this as the middle, ie move the hub halfway from where it is split the distance, not out in the middle off the floor, all hubs lose wireless strength the further you go away from them.
The engineer put it in the wrong spot and left you to deal with all the fallout regarding weak wireless signal nothing else.
You want a good wireless everywhere then it's a change of your sky hub out and a real hub in or booster's everywhere if you are a sky max subscription service to get allowed extra pods....

Re: WiFi speeds
The hub is only 3 months old. I am a sky max customer but trying to talk to someone is impossible. Unless someone has a contact number? I have 2 TV's literally within 20ft of the hub and the one that is 20ft away gets hardly any WiFi signal. The rooms upstairs aren't brilliant. And my husband doesn't sleep well and the broadband regularly just isn't on so his phone drops to his mobile data ALL the time. It's just a hideous service

Re: WiFi speeds
@Penny46 And so you know sky Max is not the full blown in your face can do it all as suggested. A badly placed hub is about as much good as a chocolate teapot.

Re: WiFi speeds
I have tried moving the hub closer to the middle of the room and sitting it on top of a unit so have but honestly it's no better.

Re: WiFi speeds
@Penny46 See if you can coax some pods out off sky, they will help a little, but you need to forget the i bought FF500 and want the full speed everywhere, an ISP supplied hub is that get it and you online with minimum fuss and they do that well, but everything else is you need to take care off it.
As an example, i retired my SR203 and the SE210 booster which was resurected from years ago, just back 3 months now, had the sky hub on about 10 weeks just making sure it was all ok, back in there boxes now, promoted my 3 Asus AI mesh for the whole home back to front and centre and direct on the FF 500 sky feed, and can do virtually full speed throughout the home....
A real router can do a lot, but it cannot work miracles, that is why there is 3 in total plus some powerline thrown in the mix for the ring doorbell and camera.
