WiFi not reaching all rooms

I am new to Sky switched a month ago but still had old provider until yesterday & we are so disappointed Sky Hub Max & 500 speed & it's not strong enough upstairs & keeps dropping out - my son is going to have to use my mobile WiFi device to play his PlayStation - this is not what we signed up for & sort of wishing we had not switched now

Re: WiFi not reaching all rooms

It's in a different part of the house because that's where Sky chose to install but yes no other change except Sky is supposed to be faster - I think we need some boosters as we had them historically but really old now - can I call Sky for these or what is the pod I just want it to work in all our rooms.

@Kez7853 Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.

Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

For decent game play on a PS5 it is worth investing in a better system if running an Ethernet cable from the hub to the console is not practical. Systems like powerline adapters or a decent whole home wifi system are sensible investments for anything other than casual game play.

Re: WiFi not reaching all rooms

Thanks I have Sky Max however running a cable from my sons PS to the hub is not practical - I never had this problem with my previous provider & I am regretting the switch to Sky now.

@Kez7853 There are NO two hubs from ISP's that are apples to apples, what you had previous to what you have now. Was there more to the change or just a other hub out, new hub in and NOTHING else involved.

Re: WiFi not reaching all rooms

@Kez7853 To start with OR or the Installer hopefully not sky decided where the router should be, all off this it has to go on the outside wall is pure and utter *bleep* pardon the french, but it does lead to ALL kinds of now my wireless wi-fi signal is pure and utter French again.

Yes if you have the Sky Max and it's addon, you are paying the extra so you will see that on a bill, then it is a MUST call first. Details all below about the Max. Please read. The other way is to get the hub moved back to a far better position area, but that is a how easy to move and will i like where the cable that needs to be run will not displease me or i will hate that....
