WiFi max questions

Does anyone know:

1. if it's possible to get WiFi max without having to restart the 24 month broadband contract term? 

2. If when using the mesh nodes it extends the speeds you get near the router to every room, i.e. 500MB+ (I have sky gigafast)?

For your first question, it usually depends on your provider. Some ISPs let existing customers upgrade to WiFi Max as an add-on without restarting the full 24-month broadband contract, while others may require a new agreement. It's worth checking directly with Sky or asking via their customer support or community forum. As for the mesh nodes, they can significantly improve WiFi coverage throughout your home, but they won't guarantee 500+ Mbps in every room. Speeds depend on factors like the distance between nodes, wall thickness, interference, and how the mesh is set up. With a good placement, though, you should see much more consistent performance across the house.

@GSte as far as I know WiFi Max is tied to a 24 month contract and I have not heard of that requirment being waived

The pod extenders wil improve coverage and Sky will supply up to 3 to give you a guaranteed minmum of 25Mb/s in every room in your home. The speed the pods can provide will depend on the backhaul connection between the pod and the hub so they need to be placed no more than halfway between the hub and where you need the boost. The first pod is sent on request if you think you need more then Sky send out an engineer before agreeing to supplying them. It is very unlikely thst the pods can provide 500Mb/s in every room.

The alternative is to buy your own whole home WiFi set up. Connectvthst tomyour Sky hub and use that instead. While there is an upfront cost it can save money over paying Sky monthly. Most apps cannot use more than 100Mb/s let alone 500Mb/s so consider what you need in practice. My 3 unit Deco  M4 system which costs under £100  provides 500Mb/s through out our main living area dropping to 150Mb/s in the furthest bedroom on the third level which is ample for our needs. Of course each home is different. You can buy faster systems or more satellites units for a cost.
