WiFi keep dropping
We had an engineer come and upgrade our broadband and he put a new router in.
since then the WiFi keeps dropping out .
today is the second time it's happened and we have to hold the wps button to connect it again.
obviously there is something wrong for this to keep happening

Re: WiFi keep dropping
@Scrappy1 As wi-fi is different to broadband, have you managed to establish what is the issue, is it only a wi-fi issue that is the problem?
If you just switch the sky Hub off leave for a couple mins then back on does it all recover that way?

Re: WiFi keep dropping
Hi
my concern is it's the second time this has happened in a couple of weeks after installing the new upgrade to broadband and router.
Both times I have turned everything off and back on then pressed the wps button on side of the router and it connects the tv back on the internet but surely this shouldn't happen as it never happened before the upgrade

Re: WiFi keep dropping
@BarbaraMarchant The trouble is would be good for you to say what was done, Fibre install, where the sky Hub was before and now, and if you had the hub swapped out to a newer sky Max white one!
Then is it just the TV that has the problem and everything else is fine, yes you should not have to keep connecting the TV back to the hub....

Re: WiFi keep dropping
Hi
im really sorry I can't give any technical info as we are both elderly and don't really understand. What I can say is that Sky contract me and wanted to improve the speed of my broadband. A telecom engineer came and put a box outside
and next came a Sky engineer who changed the hub to a larger black one .
Hope that makes sense .

Re: WiFi keep dropping
@BarbaraMarchant That is good, the sky hub you have now is the sky Broadband Hub, you would have had the older sky Q version that is why it was swapped, the landline phone if you have or are using, now will be plugged into the back off thet new sky hub for you! Link below if you click on it shows the hub types!

Re: WiFi keep dropping
@BarbaraMarchant The new hub, is it about the same place as your old one, TV and Hub if far apart will cause them not to see each other or have a weak wireless wi-fi signal to each other?
You should not need to keep re-connecting the two devices for them to stay linked! The Hub you have now is the replacement for your older one, they are very much like for like in operation!

Re: WiFi keep dropping
Hi
everything is in the same place as before. Tv and sky box is still in the living room and the new hub is in the same place as old one was in the hallway just outside the lounge door

Re: WiFi keep dropping
@BarbaraMarchant Now we are getting there, the TV box in the living room is that a sky Q or older Sky HD+ box for satellite connection and on demand etc!
sky connecting devices
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/connect-devices-to-broadband-start
If so there may be a TV issue currently with sky so you may be having something out with your control!
