WiFi issues with numerous devices

My wifi seems fine when using SkyQ and mobiles but as soon as the Xbox goes on it seems to kick my kids smart tv out! And vice versa, if they're watching tv the Xbox won't connect! Sky reckon it's running fine when I check on the app? Surely i can watch a smart tv and have the Xbox running simultaneously. Anyone had the same problem?

Does the kid's TV stop streaming to the TV when the Xbox is in operation? The likely reason is the Xbox is using all the available capacity and the best way forward would be to fit a third-party router with QoS to restrict the throughput maximum figure of the Xbox, unfortunately, the Sky routers don't support QoS.

Hi @mae-3 @ yes it does seem to do this but why is there only enough capacity for the xbox?

An Xbox wired to the router when downloading games will consume all the capacity whatever that may be and the Sky routers aren't that good at allocating the capacity evenly around devices, unfortunately, especially when the capacity available is pretty low, say below <50Mbps maximum capacity downstream.

If you post your router stats there is a post at the top forum that explains how to post these details it will give the forum members more to go on concerning your unique environment, and we can advise further.
