WiFi is awful. Just upgraded from super fast 80 to ultrafast 500 and the WiFi is very poor??

We struggle with WiFi?? The front door bell is intermittent and our phones are not great, after the upgrades bb I hoped it would improve, we did not get a new Router which I was surprised at, ours is 3 or 4 years old at least??
