WiFi/broadband

The internet connection is an absolute disgrace I used to have virgin 1gb which was so much faster than the one I have with sky even though I upgraded to 2.5 gb what on earth is going on

@Iffy4 the speed quoted is to the hub and can be checked by looking ar the daily test result in the My Sky app's service checker. 

 

Speeds measured at any device depends on the speed of your home network. Unless you use the 10Gb/s Ethernet port speeds on Ethernet connected devices will be around 900Mb/s. Speeds over WiFi depend on how close you are to the Sky Gigafast+ hub and whether t he device supports WiFi7. To get speeds over 1Gb/s in every room of most houses will require you to buy your own kit as Sky's WiFi Max pods that Sky will suppply if asked top out around 650Mb/s.

 

Of course for almost every application 100Mb/s is ample. These very fast connections are more about the ability to have muktiple users than any one device requiring multi gigabit speeds. If you have to handle very large files use the 10Gb/s Ethernet port and suitable cabling.
