WiFi boosters

Looking to get a WiFi booster, trying to get hold of Sky customer service is a nightmare so turning to you.

m can any online WiFi booster work with a Sky router box? Only had it a couple of months so it's a new router. Do I need a sky booster or would any do?

No you cant order them online unfortunately.

You also cant just buy them ad-hoc from Sky, you need to have the broadband boost addon for your package, do you have this?

Its £5 per month.

If you dont want to pay the monthly subscription you could look at purchasing one from well known online shopping sites that start with A & E

Re: WiFi boosters

So if I did buy one from one of these well known online sites, which would you suggest and it would definitely work with the sky box?

Assuming you have the latest router named 'Sky Broadband Hub' from this page

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/set-up-hub-which-sky-hub-do-you-have

Then you want the booster name 'Sky Broadband booster' from this page

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-booster-what-do-you-need-help-with

Otherwise if you have the Sky Q hub then you want the Q booster.

Re: WiFi boosters

Thank you for your help, one last question. Does it need to be a Sky product, or would a non Sky booster work?

Depends what type you were considering. If you mean the plug-in 'extenders' then I wouldnt even bother, they tend to perform poorly and the Sky hub doesnt play nice with a lot of them.

If you mean a dedicated AP (Access Point) then yes that would work fine
