Wi-Fi booster password
Hey, does anyone know how to get the password for my sky wifi booster? I have tried the same password as the main hub but that doesn't work. Whenever I try to connect a device to the booster it asks for a password.

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
@SDB131 The password is the same for a wireless wifi connection on either a main sky hub or the applied booster...

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
When I try the same password as the main hub I get a message saying it is incorrect, so I can't connect any devices to the booster.

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
@SDB131 Have you changed the password and you don't remember it now, it has to be exact as you see it, lowercase/uppercase and watch close as letters numbers can be easily not spotted like a Cap O or an Number 0 etc....
If it is a device that is not doing it then you may have to say what sky Hub you are using!

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
When I got sky wifi I couldn't get my sky mini tv box to connect to my main sky q box so sky came out and fitted a sky booster. The password on my sky max WiFi hub hasn't been changed and still works but if I try to connect a device to the booster in a room where the signal from the main hub is poor, I get a message saying unable to connect.

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
When a Sky booster is functioning correctly it has the same WiFi credentials as the Hub (which is pretty obviously desirable for household use) : there's no option to set or use a separate password.

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
The issue I am having is getting devices to connect using the booster. For example, if I go in the room where my sky max hub is, the WiFi is fine on my phone, but if I go in the room where my sky mini tv box is the WiFi on my phone is terrible or non existent. Surely my phone should use the booster if it can't get a signal from the main hub.

If the booster was supplied specifically to fix a Q television issue then it won't be acting as a hotspot for other devices: that only happens with boosters supplied under a Sky Broadband 'WiFi Guarantee' (which is undoubtedly confusing as it's exactly the same hardware)

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
As you have a Max Hub, you could manually (re)activate the WiFi hotspot functionality of the Q Mini box itself (although only for 2.4Ghz WiFi and relatively slow throughput)
Press Home on your Sky Q remote.
Scroll down and select Settings.
Select Setup.
Select Network.
Select Advanced Settings.
Select Wi-Fi hotspots and Turn on.
Enter your TV PIN to confirm.
You'll see information about enabling Wi-Fi hotspots on your Sky Q boxes, select Continue to accept.

Re: Wi-Fi booster password
@SDB131 This sky Max, then the sky Q TV / Mini / Sky broadband Booster, are all seperate and what you get with one is just not the same, The Engineer sorted out the Q - Booster - Mini side but that is all!
