Wi-Fi STILL not working

We've been having issues with the wifi now for months. Can't get consistent signal anywhere in the house, even though we have two boosters (and it's. It a big house!). You sent an engineer out who moved the boosters and base unit which mildly improved it for about a day but the issue still persists. Yesterday none of my work emails sent because my laptop wasn't connected despite working about 5 meters from the router. I've also had to roll over god knows how much data because I can't get a signal. We need this sorted now please. We work from home so it is very important we have a decent signal. Your service checker keeps saying connection is good which is frustrating. Please contact us ASAP. Can't go on like this

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Dave286 you are not addressing Sky by posting in this forum so they wont contact you so call them if you want help.

Small properies can be as much if not more difficult to network than large properites especially if they are old and built with solid internal walls. 5m of air is no issue to the wifi signal but if it includes a foot of stone wall you will get next to no signal. If you have bought the Sky WiFi Max add-on then Sky should send an engineer again but whether thst will help, will depend on the layout and as mentioned the type of construction in your home.

There are workrounds the best is running ethernet cables to the areas with poir wifi and either connecting devices directly or connecting WiFi boosters to those cables. It is unlikely Sky will do thst for you. An alternstive is to use powerline networking adapters that use the house's mmains cables to carry the data but Sky definitely wont supply these so you would have to buy a kit yourself but if you plan to work from home they could be a good investment.
