Where can I buy additional sky max pods
Hi all
The summary is I need to buy additional Sky max pods as Sky have issued me the maximum 3 pods and I cannot request anymore
I have recently moved into a new house
There is no fibre optic in the street I moved to (I had virgin 1GB before) now I'm stuck with 56Mbps
therefrore extended WiFi efficiently in each room is inporatnt as theee are 2 adults that work from home and 2 kids
the issue is the office space is not in the house, the previous owners have hard wired LAN cables to these outbuildings which is great
I have used 2 out of the three pods they issued me threre
leaving me with 1 pod for the entire house, which isn't enough
Hiw do I get Sky to issue me more pods? (Sky does not consider outbuildings as part of the house, therefore coverage guarantee does not apply here)
How do I buy additional Sky max pods as Sky have issued me the maximum 3
Thanks guys

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
@TheLock The Max pods can only be supplied by Sky, if you have reached the limit they won't provide more.
You will have to look at buying your own 3rd party extenders or a mesh system.

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
Putting two Pods in the office space seems to be a waste, as a single Pod should be able to handle two devices connected to it. What was the reason for doing that?

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
Thanks FLC, it's two storage buildings (unfortunately far apart) therefore 1x pod per office

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
They won't do so: the platform isn't intended to handle additional units, and, more to the point, the financial balance of the business model isn't either. The 'guarantee' is actually a small refund, not complete coverage (and particularly not of outbuildings which the wording specifically excludes)

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
Thanks @daveNOS wouldn't different 3rd party extenders mess up the network?
any particular ones you'd recommend?
I have my old BT mesh ones
would it be better to name them the same name as my Sky router? Or different names to avoid confusion in the network?

Re: Where can I buy additional sky max pods
If you can't get away with just using ethernet in the offices (you can get USB ethernet adapters), then the best solution would probably be to aa WAPs (wireless access points) in the offices & relocate the Pods to the main house. Use separate SSIDs for the WAPs so that you can be certain of connecting to the best signal.
If there's little coverage in the offices from the main system without the Pods then nothing should interfere beyond overlapping channels. A downloaded WiFi analyser will help you set the best channels on the WAPs.
If you want the whole property to be seemless then you'd need to cancel the WIFi Max (if you can), send the Pods back & buy your own mesh system instead of WAPs, turning off WiFi on the router. That would need one "master" connected to the router by ethernet, one in each of the offices & as many as you need to cover the house. Budget for five units but may need more.
